sliding glassdoor handle with lock

Home Owner from 93402
Hi, I am trying to install asliding glass door handle with a lock. The cutout portion on the door has an opening that is about 7" long is there some sort of plate I can use so that a regular mortise lock will fit?
Please recommned what I need.
The handle holes are 3/15/16 on center and the door is 1 7/8" wide.

Thanks for posting! To start, unfortunately, we do not have any mortise locks in this size and it is odd to see a mortise hole that does not have installation screw holes in the frame.

It will be hard to identify the replacement mortise lock you'll need without a point of reference to use, but we can try our best to do so. Although, I cannot make any guarantees.

I'd like to see a photo of the installation holes on the handle set,to begin.

Would you be able to confirm the manufacturer of the door?

Thanks for confirming. I cannot make any guarantees that this will work but take a look at the handle set 82-030 along with the mortise 82-239 and keeper 82-249. The handle has 3-15/16" mounting holes center like your door has, you'll just need to confirm whether you need a centered thumb latch versus an offset thumb latch.

As for the mortise lock, I would suggest rechecking the measurement of your cut out to see if it is longer than the 7" you originally confirmed. This mortise lock screws in to the frame of the door, but there is a chance it may still work fine, so long at the handle set is secured tightly to the door. Look over the measurements to see if this might work for you.

In regard to the 82-249 keeper, can you please confirm the mounting centers for your door jamb? Again, look over the measurements to determine if this might be a fit.

Let me know if you have any questions.
