sliding patio door lock

When the lock is in the locked position it can be opened about 1/4 inch. Is this normal and if not, how can it be corrected? Thankyou!

I don't think this is normal. It suggests to me that either the deadbolt isn't extending as far as it should, or there's a problem with it connecting to the keeper. Is this an old Andersen lock, or a new one you purchased from us? If it's the latter, you could try re-installing it to see if that helps. See the video below.
