Refinishing and refurbishing 50 yr old wooden double hung windows (I'm guessing non-tilt) and the spiral balances are broken all the top parts and some of the bottom. Please advise how to find replacement parts. I measured 21" long (tube) and diameter of 5/8" (though it looks like 6/8" to me if it matters).

Thanks for the useful information. Since these balances are on the older side, we would need to see some photos of these parts to see which of our replacement parts would work for you.

Thank you for this photo. For older wood windows like yours, I recommend our S500-21 spiral balance and a 17-012 bracket. I believe these will work for you. If you need help on how to reinstall the new hardware, let me know!
