spiral balance

Question

I need to replace the image I attached-I measured this spiral balance to be 3/8 17 inch for a doulbe hung tilt window. Is this the only part I need to order?. I don't know what the orange and blue caps are for or if I have to order the other pieces shown during checkout. Please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for posting. This looks like our S900-17, as long as the outer tube is 3/8" in diameter and 17" long. As for the color tips, those indicate the spring strength. If you don't have a colored tip you will need to weigh your sash on a scale and refer to the chart on our S900-17 store page. You only need to replace what's broken on your window, there's no reason you can't reuse everything else as long as they're functional.
