forgot to ask, do you sell the plastic covers for the 3/8" X 30" balances? Are they necessary or can they be left off?

Thanks for posting! I'm afraid we do not sell plastic covers like what you have, though it shouldn't be necessary for it to function.

I'm not sure what tip you need. You should weigh your sash just in case. It is possible to have a spring that is too strong.

How is the best way to weigh a sash that is non-tilt?

Your best bet is to place the scale on the sill and then carefully lower the sash onto it. It may not be exact, but it will give us a better idea of what would work.
