Kindly explain why my MI aluminum single sash double pane windows have both plastic and metal spiral spring balancer tubes?
Should I be concerned whether or not to replace with ike tubes?

The plastic tubes are an older style that deteriorates over time, which is why the manufacturers switched to metal tubes. The length and diameter of the tube are key to determine which replacement you need. Thank you!
