spiral window balances not working

Question

I recently purchased a 2 family house. I identified the window balances as the 600 series spiral balance. It just seems strange to me that none of the windows will stay up in the entire house! Could they all be broken and need replacing or do they need to be charged with the winding tool? Any thoughts on this. In the mean time I ordered 12 balances and a winding tool before replacing all of them. Thanks for any help.

We recommend our customers use a charging tool to charge the balances. If that does not seem to help, you will need to replace them.
