spiral window replacements

I just saw that the color tip on the spiral balance replacements indicate how much weight they are made to with stand. Does it make any difference if I change from the WHITE tip to the higher weight RED TIP as long as it is the correct length and diameter? I figured it may give the window more strength and a longer life span.
