spline for aluminum vinyl windows in my mobile home linae

i replaced the vinyl in my windows 2 years ago and when it get really windy the vinyl blows out. when i replace them i bought the plastic spline /channel (not sure what its called for vinyl) that comes in i think 8ft pieces, that mobile home depot told me thats what was needed. its not working . a friend of mine has this in his windows its square and more of a harder rubber, hes not sure how it came originally either pieces or on a roll, he just purchased his mobile home and the vinyl windows have been there for a long time. do you have anything like this and what it it called?
