I am replacing the spiral springs on my sash windows and don't know what colour of spring to purchase.

Each window is supported by two springs of diameter 9/16" and length 29". Each window weighs approximately 25 lbs on my bathroom scale.

Thanks for your help.

Good afternoon, Mary Ann! Thanks for posting. Before I can recommend the appropriate tip color, I just need you to tell me if your windows are tilt, or non-tilt. From there, I can identify your balance Series, and then the best tip color for your window sash weight. Let me know!

Thanks Tom.

They are tilt windows. I understand that the balance series is 600.

Thank you. I'd recommend the red tip, which can support a window sash weight range of 7 through 29 pounds.

Please keep in mind that the weight range information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
