my spring balance is stamped "A3145"
Should I order the 3140 or the 3150?

I'm not sure! That is a peculiar stamp. Do you know what SWISCO balance Series you have? Can you also tell me the weight of your sash? Finally, if possible, I would like to see a few pictures of your balance. Thanks!

I do not know the maker of the balance. It came out of our window which is not labeled with maker.
According to my bathroom scale, sash is 26 pounds.
Metal part is 32 inches, body of spring is 17 inches plus hooks on each end. The ends appear to match the SWISCO 350, except the top end is black. Your website indicates #3140 handles 23-28 lbs.

Thank you! Based on your pictures, I believe you have our S350-32 channel balance. As for the stamp, I think it's best to go with our 3140 option, like you said, since it can easily carry the weight of your sash.
