I have window wizards installed Versailles sectioned security door with clips that have a 3/16 hole but am not sure about the offset size because I am not sure where to measure from. Also which is more durable the plastic or metal clips?

You can see the offset in the image below. It is marked as 3/8". The metal clips are more durable, though they are more vulnerable to a salt-air environment.
