Sounds like you have a problem with your window sash support balance. Check the jambs of your window for one of the several styles of balance that we carry: spiral, channel, coil, or block-and-tackle. Once you locate your balance, you can scroll through our selection to try to match up a Series by eye, or you can remove the balance from the side of the window, photograph it, and send the photos to us to identify.
