Help with t-slot weatherstrip installation

Home Owner from Davie, FL

Purchased 58-135 t-slot weather strip from you company. My aluminum double french doors have metal rails to insert the weatherstrip but all of the ends on all four sides are closed and impossible to insert t slot. The top of the t-slot fits in but I can't get the bottom to slide in when I try to insert it in the middle of the rail.

What is an alternative way to install the t-slot weatherstrip?

Thanks in advance,

Michael

Hey, Michael. There are two things you can try. The first is to insert one half of the base of the 58-135 into the rail and then push in the other side using a putty knife. It's slow work, and it can be frustrating, but I think it will work.

The other method would be to make a cut in your rails to allow you to slide it in.
