I tried to install the legacy keyed handle set and the two tail end pieces for the locks don't fit into the locking mechanism in my door. I can slide one through but i can't slide both through.

Hello,
It sounds like you haven't cut down the key lock spindle yet. The spindle comes longer than necessary to accommodate a wide range of door thicknesses. Take a look at our guide here that includes the process of cutting the spindle down to the desired length. Thank you!

I have just installed the legacy sliding door handle, however the locking system is very hard to move up and down and if i screw the handle to the door it gets even harder to move. So in order for the locking mechanism to work the handle cant be screw in all the way and is alitle wobbley.

I'm sorry you're having trouble. Were you able to cut down the key lock spindle to the correct length as I mentioned in my original response? It sounds like the spindle might still be too long, preventing the handles from being mounted flush to the door.

Yes, they are now completely flush to the door.
