tilt latches & spiral tilt balances

Question

Hi I'm going to replace all the balances and tilt latches in my windows. I've added pics of the latches with measurements visible, hopefully that gives you what you need. For the balances, they are 28" long and 3/8" diameter. The sashes weigh 18 lbs. The original tips are all broken off or missing. I've tested a red tip one, it seemed to work well, but since 18 lbs could work with either red or green, I'd like to see what you recommend.

It sounds like you may be referring to the S900-28 spiral balance. If so, you are correct that either the red or green strength option would be sufficient to support your 18-pound sash. I would personally opt for the green tip but it is ultimately up to you.

As for your tilt latches, the curved tooth version of the latches shown in your photos is no longer available but the 26-243 and 26-244 are similar. Keep in mind that the tooth does not have the same curve, there is a chance that it could interfere with the balances. Take a look and review the specifications below to see what you think.
