First remove the window sash to get to the top sash guide.
Hold the window sash frame firmly together when removing the top sash guide and reinsert the screw and new top sash guide immediately so the frame doesn't fall apart.
This screw not only holds the top sash guide in place it holds the corner of the sash together.
