triple coil, 15 on it

Handy Person from North Carolina
Looks like the pivot shoe split into 2 pieces and the window just dropped with NO resistance...glad it didn't break.

Not sure why it has 3 coils or what the smaller plastic piece is near the top (one of them is broken in 2)

The sash itself is roughly 38" x 32"

This is actually the second window where that has happened in this house. The house was built around 1820 and windows I believe were put in around 1993 during a restoration. We just moved here about a year ago.

Hello, thank you for posting,

Please start by reviewing the style and dimensions of the S140-15 coil balance assembly. The 15 on the original housing should indicate that the balance holds 15 pounds of weight. Together with the other side, the total sash weight should be 30 pounds. I recommend weighing the sash to confirm this!

If the sash does weigh 30 pounds, the S140-15 will support the sash even though this assembly is 2 coils instead of your original 3.

Please review and let me know if you have any additional questions!
