This part looks familiar but I'm not sure what it goes to. Can you confirm if it goes with another part? Would it be possible for us to see it installed?

IT holds the casement window in place so it can pivot

It sounds like this could be a part of the hinge. I can't be certain without photos of the whole assembly but take a look at the 36-048. Review the specifications and see if they match what you're searching for. We just recommend replacing the top and bottom hinges at the same time.
