trying to identify which balances to buy for repair

need sash balances for old Anderson narrowline. Markings are a/w 83/0

We'd be happy to help but the numbers you provided do not cross-reference to any of our balances. If you could show us the original balance removed from the window and confirm if there are any other numbers stamped on it, we can go from there. Thank you!

window was installed between 1989 and 1984. interior measurement is 36 x 37 1/2.
markings are a triangle with Andersen above it, the letters A/W inside it and 83/0 outside it to the right. Below it is x1(R).
I don't know what other information to give you. How can I identify the item? I don't want to disassemble it to get to the balances because I am afraid that once I do that I will be committed to the project. Would an Andersen dealer be able to do more to identify what I need?

It sounds like you may be referring to the numbers stamped on the window itself. If so, unforutnately, that would not tell us the correct replacement balances. The only way to confirm would be to see photos of each stamp on the sash balance itself. I understand that it is not ideal to have to remove the hardware before having the replacements but we do offer a video below to assist you assuming that you have the same type of overhead sash balances.
