tube balances

A handy person from NJ says:
Hi, I need 2 new tube balances, the tip is white, the window is 43 inch square, the tube is 43 inches, which one should I get? red or black? These windows are old what do you suggest to lube the old balances? Plus I just bought pivot shoes from you, my original ones had screws in them to retain the spring on your video you did not use a screw, what is your recommendation on this?

Paul from SWISCO responded:
The strength you want would depend on the weight of the sash. Black Tip may be best but I recommend weighing your sash on a scale to confirm. As for lubrication, we recommend white grease.

Finally, you should be able to get the shoe screw you mentioned from a local hardware store. It should be a 3/8" x 6 truss head screw.
