uniframe safety mechanism

A handy person from Burien, WA says:
We have uniframe windows which have a small pop-out thingamajig which allows you to leave the window open a crack but prevents the window from being opened further. One of these thingamajigs no longer will stay depressed making it impossible to open the window all the way. Can these be replaced (and how)? Do you have this part?
Thanks
Jay
