weather stripping

Quick Learner
Since there is no opening, I think I will have to cut and remove small portions of plastic so that the strip can slide out of the sash frame. Is it normal to see door and window makers not leave any cuts to allow the sliding out of wool-pile weatherstripping? I found this on the web and much appreciate your help:

Hey there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. It isn't uncommon for windows to lack a cut out to remove the weatherstripping. Window manufacturers would rather you replace the whole window instead of just replacing the pile. Luckily, we have a video tutorial that will walk you through the steps to cut out your old weatherstrip.

Once you have it removed, you'll want to measure the pile height and the base width. Get back to us with the written out dimensions and we can narrow down your options from there. You can also find our selection of pile weatherstripping here

Hi Emily,
This is a great confirmation.  Also, I think, it takes more effort and costs to make such provisions and you guys are a secret that needs to be well known.
Thanks for this education.  I will start making some room over next few days and then order them.

Thanks again, and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you.
