I would like to replace the 25 year old weatherstripping for my house's windows to improve energy efficiency. I believe the windows were made by Norco, a company in PA that no longer exists, so I can't get help from this company. How would you suggest removing the weatherstripping? There do not seem to be any openings to allow the weatherstripping to slide out, so I am wondering if we are going to have to make cuts somewhere? Thank you, Evan

We actually have a video to remove wool pile from a sash without any premade cutouts to remove it, which we'll include below. Once you are able to remove a sample of the seal, you'll need to confirm the exact backing width and pile height to compare to our selection of replacement options here. Thank you!

Hi Casey, With my window, a vertical and a horizontal felt pile weatherstrippings are separated by a diagonal line - unlike in the video where only one side is felt pile (one of my pictures shows this in case it's helpful for you to see it). So, do you recommend making 2 cuts, one on either side of the diagonal line, to remove each of my weatherstrippings? If so, would I then make sure my new weatherstrippings overlap so there isn't an open space?

Yes, you very well may need to make two cutouts to allow your pile to slide out of the channel on both sides. The new weatherstripping wouldn't necessarily overlap but you do want them to meet without any unnecessary space to create the best seal possible.
