weep hole cover 26-417

A home owner from bellingham, wa says:
i'm interested in your swisco 26-417 weep hole cover. the weep holes in my windows are simply slots measuring 3/8" long x 3/16" high (photo attached). it looks like the 26-417 could work if i simply extend the width of the slot from 3/8" to 1" and snap the cover in place. would you agree? am i looking at this correctly? i've also looked at the 26-186, but the 417 just looks like it could work better allowing for better drainage with a wider drain slot. any help is appreciated as the bees love these open holes. thanks....jim

Hello,

I don't believe your window manufacturer ever intended to have weep hole covers because of the small size opening. I believe they thought being that small didn't require them. Attempting to enlarge the cut might be too difficult even with a Dremel tool. You might do better with 26-186 because you only need to drill two holes for the locking pins. Thanks for posting!
