what kind of window balance for this old wood window

Question

I purchased an old house with many many this kind of old window that stuck. I assume I need to replace the balance but I don't know how to take the sash off and check the type of balance it use. Please help. Thanks.

I'm glad to hear that you figured out how to remove the sash. Unfortunately, we do not carry replacement jamb liners with naked springs like the hardware that your window uses. Your best bet would be to contact a local millwork that may be able to help with this repair. Thank you!
