wheels for exterior sliding wooden doors

Handy Person from Kailua, HI

Trying to find replacement sliding door wheels.  The bodies are stainless steel and have held up (photos are of one that I cleaned up) . The wheels and bearings are carbon steel and mainly seized.  Need about 18 of these to repair sliding doors directly exposed to salt air by the ocean.

  • Total length extended (wheel in) 3.460"
  • Total length (wheel out) 2.962"
  • Pocket width: 0.611"
  • Pocket depth: 1.352"
  • Wheel diameter: 1.255"
  • Wheel width: 0.322:
  • Shafter diameter: 0.196"

Mounting is via a side flange as shown in the photos.  We can consider replacing just the wheels as well.

Thank you!

Thank you for your patience during this busy season. This is a very, very peculiar roller design. Is the door particularly old? You mentioned that it's wood, but that doesn't always mean it's older.

Either way, I can verify that we don't sell anything in this design. The best that I can suggest is to replace the wheel and reuse the housing using one of our kits, such as the 81-266 or 81-272. We also sell nylon wheels separately, since you said this is oceanside. See our full selection here.

Thanks Tom.  They are on a large custom home maybe 25 years old.  Thanks for checking.
We are going to try stainless steel axles and nylon wheels to see how the hold up.
