window balance for Simonton window

Handy Person from Oriskany, NY
I have Simonton windows and the balance has broken in one of them. I do not have it apart but do have the numbers

from the tag in the upper part of the window. the numbers are as follows: 6252197/01 37.5000 57.0000 55DHWI

50767LEAR Simonton Window Triton Window and Door 9/30/05 A3WH.

Is this enough information to get me the correct parts that I need?

I'm afraid those numbers don't tell me anything. We'll need you to remove one of your balances from the window in its entirety and show us a photo of it. We may need more photos after that, but I need to see what kind of balance you have first so that we know what to ask for. Thank you!

Thanks for writing in. This looks like our 15-192 Pivot Shoe. This shoe is compatible with our Series 170 and Series 171 Coil Springs. If you have two coil springs on each side of the balance, the Series 171 stacks on top of the Series 170. To know what spring weights you need, search the coil springs for stamps that correspond to our spring weights. If you are uncertain, or your coil springs lack stamps, measure the weight of your window sash. Give us that precise weight and we'll work out what you need.

Both springs are stamped 407. The actual broken part is the assembly the springs are screwed in to. It connects the springs to the window sash pins. The springs are intact. Is the part for the bottom available by itself?

Sure, that would be the pivot shoe, the 15-192. If that's all that is broken, then you'd be fine just going with that. Let us know if you have any other questions.
