Please find attached details of my window balancer.

* Printed on the lower end of the channel: 26-9 CS CALDWELL

* The five attached photos represent one of two two window-channel balancers needed.

* Total length of both channels, EXCLUDING the plastic parts at each end: 68.7 cm / 27.04 in

* Please provide the correct part number for these two items.

Thank you for your help!

Sincerely,

John

Thanks for writing in. It looks like you have either the S380-27 or S385-27. The only difference between these two channel balances is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe, or the 'heel-to-toe' measurement, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best. See the diagram below for reference.

You'll then need to choose a stamp option. This denotes the strength of the balance. Your old stamp of 26-9 is from a rating system no longer in use. To know what stamp to select, obtain the exact weight of the window sash that these channel balances support. You can then match that exact weight with one of the weight ranges listed alongside each stamp option under the product description of either the S380-27 or S385-27 shop pages.

I will need the S380-27 for a window sash in my living room. Today I weighed the window, which came to 43.0 lb.

Thus my question: Which stamp option should I select for that window? 2670 is closest to the 43.0-lb target weight.

Thank you!

John

That's a pretty heavy sash for this size balance! All of the standard options we have available for the S380-27 are too weak to carry that kind of load. However, while this is uncommon, we may still be able to get a hold of it for you.

Please give us a little more time to look into this and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hello again! I have learned that we can make this balance, but it has to be a custom order due to the heavy duty spring. What I'll do now is email you a purchase link and price quote that will let you add 2 of these to your cart, which is the minimum. You can then checkout as normal.

These will be made with a 2680 stamp, which carries 42 through 45 pounds. It should be perfect for your sash weight.

Please let me know if you had any other questions and I would be happy to assist.
