window block and tackle balances

Question

I purchased these balances from Swisco about 10 years ago. I might be interested in new replacement balances for 11 single hung windows. The vertical measurement of the sashes are : 5 at 35 inches, 5 at 29 inches, and 1 at 17 inches. Thank you for your help. Charles

Hey Charles. We no longer carry these rod balances, but fortunately you can use the Series 775 Channel Balance as a substitute. You'll need to measure the length of the entire rod to know what balance length to select. You will need to measure the width of the wedge shoe at the bottom (it should either be 1" or 1-1/4"). Finally, weigh the window sash the balances support; use that exact weight to pick the stamp option for the new balance. Let me know if you have questions.
