I believe we can replace this, but it looks like your top nylon attachment has broken. I suspect there was once more to it than what we see here. Would you have an undamaged version that we can see for reference?

Can you also tell me the depth of your shoe? If you were to stand your balance straight up as it looks in the window, this would be the "heel to toe" measurement of the bottom shoe. Hopefully that makes sense. This measurement, in addition to a photo of an undamaged top attachment, will help us narrow down the list of possible replacements to precisely one.

Thanks for replying back.

Unfortunately, I threw away another one that was pair with marked 2730C. I will give you all information I have now, even thought they confused me.
Attached pictures are for window 2-- Plastic tops, marks, longer one is on right side of window and shorter one is on left side of window.

Both windows' frame is 21 by 29 and weight around 12 pounds each.

Window 1 which I had sent information and pictures to you originally:
Marked 2730C B.S.I. with black top and white shoe ? length 28 (metal only), deep 5/8, wide 4/8; shoe ? 1 by 1 by 4/8;

Window 2 attached new pictures:
(on left side of window) --
Marked 2140 with white top and white shoe ? length 22 (metal only), deep 5/8, wide 4/8; shoe ? 1 by 1 by 4/8; (this one is tough to push it down to take it out)

(on right side of window) ?
Marked 2620C B.S.I. with black top and white shoe ? length 27 (metal only), deep 5/8, wide 4/8; shoe ? 1 by 1 by 4/8;

Thank you very much and hope the information is helpful to you.

Thanks for getting back to us. Assuming all these windows are the same, other than size, then odds are they all use the same balance Series. With your new pictures in mind, I would start by looking at our Series 390 channel balance. I think this could be what you need. Look it over and see what you think.

thanks for your information and I will look at series 390 later.

what confused me is why they used different channel balances for one window? for example, why window 2 used 2140 & 2620C?

shouldn't I buy the same channel balance for one window? how can different channel balance can keep that window balance?

thanks for your info.

BTW, Actually I only have two windows and both are the same size.

Thanks for your information.

Ahhh, I see. That is weird. One window should have the same balance on each side. Sounds like whoever installed these originally just kind of put in whatever they had on hand without thinking about whether it was right or wrong. Happens all the time, unfortunately.

So we can get to the bottom of this, but it will take a little homework. I will need the height of the visible glass for each sash, as well as the weight of each of those sashes. Please clarify what weight goes with what visible glass height.

The visible glass height will allow us to calculate the length that window needs, while the sash weight will allow us to calculate the strength of the spring. From there, you can select what Series 390 you need accordingly.

Hopefully this makes sense. Let me know this information whenever you can.
