We believe you have a similar style pivot shoe to our 15-191, which usually works with the Series 160 coil spring. Your spring looks different, though. Instead of installing in the shoe with tabs, it hooks in that little prong there. I think you could still use our 15-191 and Series 160 though, you would just have to replace both. You will also need the number printed on the old spring to determine the best Series 160 option. |

Hey Bill. That would indicate a spring meant to support 8 lbs. The closest we have to that with the Series 160 is the S160-7 7.5 lb spring, and the S160-9 9 lb support. So depending on the exact weight of the window sash, you can probably get away with using either. Let me explain. If your window sash weighed exactly 16 lbs, you could use (1) of the S160-7 on both sides of the sash. This would equal 15 lbs of support overall--being within 1 lb of the actual sash weight usually works fine. If, on the other hand, the window weighed something like 17 lbs, using (2) of the S160-9, for a total of 18 lbs of support, would be the better choice. If in doubt, just give us the exact sash weight, and we'll work out the numbers for you. |
