window coil balance

There springs in the window tract which can seen in pictures--How do they come-out? Are they attached by screws?--What should my system look like

Hello,

Your housing pivot resembles the 15-087, which uses the Series 180 coil springs. You'll need to remove the coils to locate the stamps that correspond to our S180 strength options. We'll also relate the accessories used with this coil balance to compare to your hardware. Thanks for posting!

How do I remove the coils from the tract? How are they attached? Is it a screw?
I tried to pull them out--they seem attached to the inside of the tract.

The end of the coil is attached to the top mounting bracket as shown in our diagram. If you unscrew the bracket, the rest of the broken coil will come out with it.
