would the 39-280 be the best fit even tho the connecting arm is shorter or is there a better choice?

Looking at your other measurements and mounting hole locations, I also believe the 39-280 would be the closest to yours, except for the length of the link arm. However, I believe the "play" in the linkage and gearing should make up the difference.
