window latches

I recently ordered window latch part number 90-267 and it was too large to fit into the slotted track. I do not have one to show as an example. Any suggestions?

You're from Florida, huh? That actually gives me a clue. See if our popular 90-293 latch will fit into the slot. The distance from the top to the hooking end is 1/2". Does it look right?

Actually I think I have used that 1 before, I recognize the metal Spring that has to be carefully be put in as it slides into the track. I believe your Florida clue is right on track.
