The plastic part that is hanging in brwindow2.jpg is what is broken and needs to be replaced. The brwindow3 shows how it is suppose to look like.

Take a look at the 39-539 awning window vent hinge pair used on Anderson awning windows and see how they match up to the parts you need to repalce. Thanks for posting!
