Balance and Top Sash Guide Help

A handy person from Naples, FL says:

Hello, I have a window that has been difficult to open and close. When I closed it today both channel balances broke though the top of the window frame, see photos 1 and 2. Now the window won't say up and the channel balances extend up the window slot when I raise the window. A photo of the manufacturer information is also attached. I'm guessing I will need 2 channel balances and two of those stops on the window frame? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Brian

Thanks for posting. Those caps that broke, allowing the balances to shoot past, are called Top Sash Guides. You'll certainly need to replace those; if the windows were not operating well before they broke, you may need to replace the balances as well. We need to see undamaged versions of each item out of the window. For the balances specifically, we need pictures of the fittings on either end of the metal channel, as well as of the fittings on each end. From there, we'll do our best to narrow down what you need. Many thanks.

okay thanks. Photos are attached and I found a number on the balance (2950). So I need two top sash guides and two balances. Do you have enough photos and information? Four photos on this post and I have 4 more photos I will send next

Perfect, this is everything I needed to see. If the metal channel of the balance, not including the nylon fittings, is 30" long, then see our S377-30. You'll need a stamp option of 2950. For new Top Sash Guides, see our 18-042.
