window pin for tilt window

Quick Learner from Cornelius, NC

Hi, I recently ordered the window pivot lock shoe #15-179 : Pivot Lock Shoe, 9/16" Thick. It seems to be the correct size for my window however I cannot fit the pin in the slot. Is it easier to try to find another pivot lock shoe to fit the pin that is very similar to #26-352 with a round head. Or to replace the pins with ones that will fit the pivot lock shoe #15-179?

The existing pins in windows are 2.5" long, 5/16" x3/16" with 2 holes. 1st hole is 1 3/8 inch from end and 2nd hole is 1 3/4" from end. Both holes are 3/8" apart.

Thanks for your help. You all have been such a great help with this window repair project!!!

Best,

Jeanne

Hello,

Based on your photos, you would need to use the 26-021 pivot bar and 15-179 pivot shoe. The first screw-on hole is 1-3/8" but if you need to use the second hole, you would have to drill the pin. If so, be careful not to hit the glass when drilling the hole. Thanks for posting.
