window problems with the side runners

Handy Person from Los Angeles
Our window has the left-side inner "sash" has been pushed out and the right-side inner "sash" had crept down a half an inch and it won't let us push the window down far enough to use the sash-lock on top...Is there a way to open the window and re-align these things? or at least move or remove the right-side one so we can close the window with the sash-lock?

Hello,

It sounds like you're concerned that the support balances may not be functioning properly, causing the window sash to not stay up all the way. If so, there's a good chance that we can help but we would need to see an intact balance assembly uninstalled to compare to our inventory. Please make sure to include both ends and any stamp codes on the balance itself. See the videos related on this page to assist you.

Thank you Casey! Will look for those numbers... but the windows are probably 20+ years old. Will investigate further and tell you what we find!
Thanks again!

Great, we'll be here when you're able to remove the balance to show us. Just let us know if you have any other questions in the meantime.
