window wool pile insulation ID question

Home Owner from Puget Sound, WA
The doors you helped me order pile insulation for turned out so well, I'm going for the old aluminum windows, too.

I think this is your part 58-002 in gray.

Looks like 3/16 x 3/16, no center fin.

What do you think, please? I'll need to order some.

Thanks,
DC

They are 43 year old Milgard aluminum, single glazed sliding windows.

We believe the 58-021 may give your windows a better seal for the winter. Today, many window manufacturers are using the fin seal wool pile, as they too believe it offers more protection.

Personally, I hate any door that uses weather-strip with a fin. They cause a lot of drag, and the fin makes a crunching crinkling noise. I do live in California, so maybe really cold weather makes it worth it.
