wood casement replacement weatherstrip

Quick Learner from Dour-Dummer, Ontario, Canada

Hi, I am reconditioning my 25 yr old wood casement windows and the original weatherstripping needs replaced. I have not been able to locate this (original) 'double fin' type, so I had been thinking that a 'kerf mount bulb' would do as a replacement. Is the 'double fin' that I have available? ... or ... do you think the 'bulb' type will be the best replacement?

Thank you in advance,

Dan

Thanks for posting, Dan. I've never seen this kind of seal before. Could a bubble seal like our 58-053 work just as well? I don't see any reason why not, unless that double fin is integral to the function of the window. But if all it does is block air then bubble type seal does the same thing, so it should be okay. You can also order a small sample of it from this page. That way you can try it our before you commit to a purchase.
