Need coil balance

Handy Person from Parkesburg Pa
I am ordering a coil balance pivot shoe and need the coil that goes with it. It says it should go with series 156 but can’t figure out what weight it is.

Hello,

I can't be sure without seeing a straight-on photo of the pivot shoe your coil is connected to but I believe I recognize your assembly. If you have Certainteed windows, we offer the 15-192 pivot shoe that uses the S170 and S171 coil springs, along with the parts listed under the related items section of the 15-192 product page. Please note that some customers have reported they needed to shave the front of the shoe down to install it in their window jamb.

We also offer a conversion video shown below that works for both Certainteed and Simonton windows that use this type of assembly. Take a look and review the full process below to see which option you'd prefer for your repair.

In either case, you would need to weigh the sash to determine the strength options for your springs since your stamp code does not correspond to our parts. The sash weight would be divided by the number of coils used on each side. Thank you!

We have a Simonton window that weighs 14.4 lbs. There is a picture attached of the coil. Thanks for your help.

In that case, I'd recommend following the conversion video below. You'll need to use one S159-07 coil connected to the 15-259 pivot shoe on each side. We also carry the 15-255 coil supports and 26-083 pivot bars needed for this coil balance setup.
