A contractor from Greenwich ct says:
I am trying to locate a number of sizes of balances to replace . Each one has the same 2 ends and came out of dynamic custom wood windows.
The numbers I see are as follows

Thanks for posting. We can replace these balances for you, but we need more information to narrow this down. First off, it looks like these are either Series 380 or Series 385 Channel Balances. The difference between these two Series is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe, or the 'heel-to-toe' measurement. The picture below shows the difference. Compare with your old hardware and let us know what you're working with.

Next, please confirm that the balances stamped 42DS45 and 43DS38 have metal channels that are 43" and 44" in length, respectively (do not include the nylon fittings in this measurement). These two balances will have to be custom made due to their unique length and stamp option; I just need to know how many of each you need.
Finally, if the balances stamped 28DS40 are 29" long (not including fittings), you should be able replace these with either our S380-29 or S385-29. That 40 at the end of the code should designate that these balances support a window sash that weighs 40 lbs, in which case you can use our stamp option of 2870 (for a window sash that weighs 39 through 42 lbs). If you're uncertain you can always check the sash weight.

Thanks for getting back to me. I just sent you an email with two custom links enclosed. One link is to order (32) of the 43" Series 385 balances, stamped 42DS45. The other is a link to order (24) 44" Series 385 balances, stamped 43DS38. Let me know if you have any further questions prior to placing this order.

For the 29" Series 385 balances stamped 28DS40, use our S385-29 which you can order right through our online store. I believe you should be able to use a stamp option of 2870, for a window sash in the weight range of 39 through 42 lbs.
