1956 Patio Door Handle Broken

Question

Hi all - I''m sure this handle is no longer in production but I can't find one in the usual places (Menards, Home Depot, etc.) that will work as an alternative. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I tried to upload photos but the site didn't seem to work - is there an email address I can send them to?

Hi there! Looks like your old handles have "Dorwal" printed on them, which implies these are used on Acorn brand doors. Unfortunately, Acorn has been out of business for a long time and we won't be able to supply this exact handle set for you.

The best thing we can offer would be our 82-005 surface mount handle set. I like these because they have their own self-contained mortise lock, meaning it doesn't have to interact with the door at all aside from just screwing on.

Speaking of that, the installation hole spacing on the 82-005 is 4-15/16". You'll have to drill new holes for it, but thankfully the hole where your old handle installed was only 4". It shouldn't get in the way.
