iT NEEDS 2 COIL BALANCE
Can you help me?
Dennis
Hey Dennis. We've seen MI windows use a few different coil balance assemblies. The only way to know for sure what you need is to remove the existing hardware and show us photos. The pivot shoe, or plastic block that the coil springs connect to and from which the window sash tilts from, is especially important--the identity of the pivot shoe tells us the identity of the coil balances your window uses. See the video on this page that shows how to remove and replace coil balance systems. Depending on what kind of assembly your window uses, the details may differ slightly, but the guiding principles should be the same. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hope these photos help. The band is broken on both sides. I was able to take one out.
Thanks for the help
Dennis
Thank you! That's a huge help.
We can help with this project, though note that we can only sell the components for this balance assembly separately. See our 15-180 pivot shoe, Series 190 spring, 15-186 clip, and 15-182 bushing. Note that you can reuse whatever's undamaged. It looks like only your shoe is broken, so assuming everything else is functioning properly then you can get away with just replacing that and reusing the rest.
Just purchased parts on order #2356400.
Could you send video on how to install parts?
Thanks
Dennis
Thanks for the order, Dennis, we appreciate it. We don't have a video on this precise assembly, but the video below is a general instructional guide that essentially has the same steps. I believe you'll find it to be helpful.
I Have another 3500 window that needs 3 coil balance springs and one coil balance boot.
The window weighs 24lbs
Dennis
thanks
Hello, Dennis. This appears to be the same balance assembly as shown above, so you can use all the same hardware. For a 24 pound sash supported by 4 coil springs, you can use the 6 pound option. That would be the S190-640.
