Product Description

This is a Series 190 stainless steel spring for tilt-in windows. It moderates the operation of your window sash using a specifically calibrated coil spring that allows the window to stay open when raised and remain shut when closed.

Individually, this coil balance can hold 6 pounds. This is added together with the other coils to support the whole weight of the sash.
This coil is stamped with number 6 or 640.
Measures 1/2" thick.
Designed to work with the 15-180, Pivot Shoe (sold separately).
This coil balance spring is sold individually, not in sets.
Can work for either the left or right side of the window interchangeably.
Coil balances are also known as constant force window balances.

Good Idea!

For best results, replace window balances in pairs (though sold individually). An old balance will overwork a new one, causing faster wear and uneven operation. Paired replacement ensures optimal, lasting performance.

Double coil and shoe?

Hi, I have to windows that will not stay up. The coil springs are broken on both sides and I'm looking for replacements. One shoe is also broken, but I'd prefer to replace them all. I can't see any stamps on the coils, but the window sash weighs 23 lbs. These are builder grade windows. Thanks. ... (cont.)

shoe replacement

Hi I havea MI window and door 3500 SH 12675845.4. The window doesn't stay open. From what I'm learning, the shoe plastic is broken. The ?pivot piece (screw thing) is stuck underneath the frame of the window so I think what I want to replace is the plastic part. I have no idea how to find this part o ... (cont.)

Am I just replacing the shoe?

Window isn't staying in the position I move it too and slams back down. Do I just need to get a replacement shoe? Both coils have the #6 as well.
