The length is 24", channel width is 1/2". The window has the standard clip to separate the windo from channel

Thanks for your post. I see that your 18" balance is showing some similarities to our S380-18. These come assembled with a 19-005 nylon top and 15-005 bottom balance shoe. You would choose the 1770 option for a sash weight range of 25-29 pounds. For your 24" balance, you should be able to go with the S380-24 with a 2350 option.
