25" x 5/8" Yellow Spiral Balance

Need 25" x 5/8" Yellow Spiral Balances for 31.5 lbs Vinyl Windows
Did the black replace the yellow? These windows are about 25 years old.

Thanks for your question. I see you are inquiring about our S600-25 spiral balance. Our black tipped balance does cover a sash weight of 31-40 pounds. If you would like for us to take a closer look, you are more than welcome to submit some photos of your spiral balance to us. We ask that the balance is removed from the window when submitting your photos to us.

given the margin or error with bathroom scales that were used to weight window, and that it is on the line at about 31 pounds (blue 12 to 31 lbs, black 31 to 40 lbs). Is it better to order the heaver black or the lighter blue?

We suggest that you go with the blue tip S600-25 tilt balance.

Do you take the window weight and divide by 2 to determine the spiral balance required? The window has 2.What slides are the blue tips to be used with? My slide dimensions are 1 1/4 wide,1 7/8 tall and 1/2 deep

You do not divide the sash weight for this balance. If your sash weight is anywhere from 12 through 31 pounds, then the Blue Tip option will work.

I'm not sure what you mean by slide. Do you mean the pivot shoe? If yours is exactly 1/2" thick, I recommend the 15-046.
