Hello there. These look like either S380-26 or S385-26 Channel Balances. The only difference between these two balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe, or the heel-to-toe measurement. See the diagram below for reference. Compare both balances with your old hardware to see what matches best.

You also have to choose a stamp option, which reflects the strength of the balance. Are these balances from the same window? I ask because a pair of channel balances from the same window should have the same stamp code. The stamp of 25-3 translates to our stamp option of, 2530, which designates a balance that can hold a window sash in the weight range of 15 through 19 pounds. The stamp 25-4 translated to 2540, for a balance that supports a window in the weight range of19 through 25 pounds. If your balances with different stamps came from the same window, weigh the window sash to see which weight ranges it falls into. Let me know if you have further questions.

A stamp of 25 2 translates to our 2520 stamp, also for a 26" channel balance. These stamps are sequential, so you can reliably translate the stamp based on the first three digits of the stamp. In your case it would work like this:

  • "25 2" = 2520
  • "25 3" = 2530
  • "25 4" = 2540

And so on. You can see a weight chart on each balance's store page that tells you precisely how much weight each option supports, just in case you have any doubts or wanted to verify that our stamps were correct.
