A home owner from Maryland says:
The metal tube measures 29 inches. I figured the 28 4 as marked on the tube meant 28 inches but the metal tube is 29"

Thank you for your inquiry. Take a look at both our S380-29 and S385-29 channel balances. The only difference between these two pieces is the depth measurement of the bottom balance shoe. For the Series 380, the depth measurement of the bottom shoe is 1" and for the Series 385, the depth is 1-3/32". Measure the depth of your bottom shoe, like in the diagram below, to determine the best match. Whichever one chosen will go with the 2840.
